Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using OneUmmah Marriages you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated version.
Who may use OneUmmah Marriages
You must be 18 or older, able to enter a binding contract, and legally able to consent to marriage. OneUmmah Marriages is a marriage introduction service for single adults seeking a spouse. Accounts may not be created or used on behalf of anyone else, and one person may hold only one account.
Your account and profile
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account. Your profile must be accurate, must use your own photographs, and must not misrepresent your age, marital status, religion, or intentions. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, and we may do so without refund where a serious breach or safety issue exists.
Community rules
No harassment, threats, abuse, sexual content, unsolicited commercial messages, scams, or attempts to contact members through WhatsApp, social media or elsewhere before consent is given. Solicitation, commercial advertising, and money requests are not permitted. All conduct is expected to be consistent with Islamic values and UK law.
Consent-based contact sharing
Contact details are never published. A member may only receive another member's contact details through a request that the other member has reviewed and approved. Sending repeated or unwanted requests is a breach of these terms. Contact details obtained through OneUmmah Marriages must be used only for the purpose of marriage-related communication and must not be sold, shared or published.
Wali and guardian involvement
Where a wali or guardian is appointed, they act on your behalf and can view the information you authorise. You are responsible for keeping your wali's information accurate and for telling us if the arrangement changes. Where a wali has been appointed, contact release remains subject to their approval as well as yours.
Subscriptions and payments
Any paid subscription renews at the price shown at the point of purchase until cancelled, and can be cancelled through your account. Fees are exclusive of VAT. Refunds are handled in line with UK consumer law and the refund terms shown at purchase. We do not charge for anything not clearly displayed before you pay.
Verification and moderation
We verify profiles administratively, but we do not guarantee that any profile, photograph, or statement is accurate, and we do not endorse any member. We may remove content or suspend accounts that fail verification or break our rules.
Our role and liability
OneUmmah Marriages introduces people to each other. We are not a party to any marriage, and we are not responsible for the conduct, honesty, intentions or safety of members you meet or communicate with offline. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from member interactions, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Acceptable use and availability
You may not scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the service, and you may not attempt to access other members' accounts. We may suspend access temporarily for maintenance or security reasons and will restore it as soon as practicable.
Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you have a complaint, contact [email protected] first. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the UK's online dispute resolution provider or to the relevant regulator.
